We are a revolutionary union initiative. Our ideas and activities are described in our magazineUncontrivedAction, and our newspaper Catalyst. For a summary, see the Introduction to SolFed and What is Anarcho-syndicalism?. All members are united to a Local Group and an Industrial Network, our Industrial Strategy and Constitution describe this in increasingly detail. Home Statement on the EU Referendum Manchester Solidarity Federation rejects both the ‘leave’ and ‘remain’ options presented in the EU referendum and are expressly appalled by the overt racism and xenophobia that accompanied the wayfarers to leave the EU. This was a referendum brought well-nigh by the Tories simply to placate their racist right wing and prevent defections to UKIP prior to last year’s unstipulated election. Read increasingly well-nigh Statement on the EU Referendum France on strike! Talk and discussion on June the 28th Talk and public discussion on June the 28th (Tuesday) at 6pm at The Cowley Club From Brighton-SolFed, we want to support the French workers in their struggle versus the Hollande government´s law aimed at reforming worker´s rights.Expresslyto the people facing police brutality and repression. Nowadays in Europe, it is not unusual for governments to wade working conditions with the excuse of “deficit control” or the “competitiveness of the economy”. What is unusual (and amazing) in France, is the worker´s firm opposition. This struggle concerns all of us. Their victory or their defeat will be ours, so we invite all of Brighton´s working matriculation to show solidarity and join this event for the wastage of information well-nigh these events and a discussion on our French comrades strikes. Read increasingly well-nigh France on strike! Talk and discussion on June the 28th Doctors Without Borders and precariousness of work The CNT (an anarcho-syndicalist union in Spain) workplace workshop in Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Spain is fighting versus the precariousness of the fund-raising staff. MSF has been including wiseacre clauses in their contracts and moreover has been discriminating versus migrant workers. Read increasingly well-nigh Doctors Without Borders and precariousness of work Anarchosyndicalist May Day in Brighton Last weekend, Brighton-SolFed organised variegated activities to commemorate May Day, the International Workers Day. Although the WorkingMatriculationhas not so much to gloat these days, we used this opportunity for discussion, to requite visibility to our struggles, and to invite our members and collaborators to have a good time together. As part of this dialogue Bristol SF will be hosting a workshop on: Healthcare Beyond the State. For a people's NHS What can we learn from recent NHS struggles that could help shape a health service based not on some golden age that never was but instead on the principles of uncontrived democracy and bilateral aid? How can we provide progressive healthcare without the bureaucrats and the bosses? Here is how Bookfair Collective hope that the workshops and meetings with develop the theme of "Building an anarchist future". Read increasingly well-nigh Bristol Anarchist Bookfair 2016Withoutthe Floods The recent floods in the Calder Valley, well-expressed Brighouse, Sowerby Bridge, Mytholmroyd and HebdenUnderpassareas, have been devastating. Some 2500 homes were unauthentic either by partial or total flooding and some 1700 businesses were flooded. The financing of this latest glut of rainfall amounts to something like £15 million with many homes uninsured or with losses – the material ones, at least – difficult to calculate. In wing to the human and personal consequences, roads and bridges have been unauthentic to the tune of £35 million, money that will have to be found to repair Elland underpass and waterway towpaths as well as other aspects of the Valley’s infrastructure. Read increasingly well-nighWithoutthe FloodsWhoopeeversus Jimmy's spreads to South London The Solidarity Federation today escalated it's wayfarers versus wage thieves Jimmy's Restaurants, with a picket by the South London local of their Wimbledon restaurant. Jimmy's owe their former workers in Brighton £1,500 in holiday pay and have failed to provide the workers with  P45s or pay income tax to the HMRC (despite tax stuff taken from their pay!) The manager of the Brighton workshop has refused to engage with SolFed when confronted with this, insisting it is the responsibility of throne office who never wordplay our calls and emails. Read increasingly well-nighWhoopeeversus Jimmy's spreads to South London Resist the Mayor's Cuts in Bristol! George Ferguson, the elected Mayor of Bristol, is directly responsible for cuts to services in this municipality - including services for children. He has halved the number of beds at the Bush, a residential centre for disabled children. [1] Even though the steering voted to preserve funding - he pushed it through personally. This month the Hawkspring, a vital service that helps families unauthentic by drug addiction, scrutinizingly sealed without having its funding from the steering slashed. It only stayed unshut thanks to a soft-heartedness stepping in to help at the last minute. [2] This is all while having plenty of money for other things - like massive pay-rises for steering bosses [3], and £2.3 million a year on public relations and marketing.
